Nearly two decades after the end of her 34-year marriage to musician Carlos Santana, Deborah Santana is writing about how she reclaimed her story.

The activist and author, 75, will publish her new memoir Loving the Fire: Choosing Me, Finding Freedom this month via Broad Book Press.

While the book traces Deborah’s life — from her upbringing to her marriage and separation from Carlos — it also honors Deborah’s healing journey, along with her calling as an advocate for social justice and female empowerment.
