Daraja Academy
I continue to support Daraja with gratitude for the phenomenal young women and have joined Daraja Vision 2025 campaign to build a new facility that will be an academic hub for social change.
Daraja Academy is a free secondary boarding school in Nanyuki, Kenya. Kenya has superlative schools and an 85% literacy rate. However, there are still 18 million girls not receiving a high school education because of the fees required for uniforms & books.
Daraja provides an exemplary education to girls who have no means to attend school. They are girls who give back to their communities and demonstrate a high level of leadership skills. I began supporting the education of 6 girls in 2010, who have now graduated from University and work as teachers, nurses, and social workers. Their enthusiasm for education and life have inspired me to believe in Daraja Academy as a changemaker for girls. I continue to support Daraja with gratitude for the phenomenal young women.
Here is one of the short documentaries I produced with the expertise of Director Barbara Rick (Out of the Blue Films) and her husband/sound technician, Jim Anderson.
Please join me in supporting these girls’ educations.
